The twice-annual open house events are a major fund-raising activity for HAWKE. These funds support our two primary goals of rehabilitating injured and orphaned wildlife, and teaching respect for wildlife through educational programs for local schools and organizations. Because there is no state or federal funding for wildlife rehabilitation, the majority of our funding depends membership donations, and fundraising events such as the Dine on The Wild Side on May 14th
This is a family-friendly event that includes tours of the rehabilitation center, where animals are nursed back to health, and the outdoor enclosures such as the new turtle enclosure and see where non-releasable residents live.
